Masquerading the Truth: Cutting Through Intrepid’s Alternate Realities

You can call my content cerebral, refined, well researched. You can call it vulgar, crass, profane. I will agree with all of it, because I am.

What I do not tolerate are muppets. I do not suffer fools. You do not have to respect every opinion. You only have to accept people have the right to one. If you say something, justify it.

Anyone honest about my work knows I bring receipts. You may not like my conclusions, but you will see how I got there. Mock my content if you want. If I am not your style, do not watch me. Disrupt the show, I ban you. Done.

What I do not tolerate is anyone questioning my integrity.

So imagine my surprise when Steven Sharif, Creative Director of Ashes of Creation and CEO of Intrepid Studios, accused me of “masquerading.”

Let’s be clear. I stepped away because I lost faith in the project. Before 30 August 2025, I had not covered Ashes of Creation on Twitch since 11 November 2024. https://twitchtracker.com/jahlonpgn/games/497509 The only video I made was an op-ed on Level 80’s bush league article.

Have I ever “mascaraded” (sic) anything about Ashes or Intrepid? No. I do not need to. Intrepid embarrasses itself. The product still cannot stand on its own legs. I stopped covering Ashes because Intrepid did not want negative feedback. For years I pointed out flaws, gave fixes, offered solutions. They ignored it. Then they labeled my criticism “toxic vitriol” capable of causing “emotional duress” and “physical harm.”

If Steven wants to talk about masquerading the truth, let’s start with Reddit. He says the MMORPG subreddit is unfriendly. Yet he is the one downvoted on his own subreddit. That is not vitriol. That is reality leaking into the echo chamber.

If we are talking masquerade, let’s revisit August 2019. Steven claimed Intrepid could not tell the community in February that APOC was coming to Steam, because they did not know.

If they did not know, why did they put Steamworks.Net into the Intrepid Launcher on 17 and 18 December 2018? Developers confirm Steamworks is only for putting a game on Steam and enabling Steam functions. What secret knowledge did Intrepid have that others did not?

Steam

Here is the simplest one. Intrepid claimed their studio was over 17,000 square feet. The suite was 5,826. Why inflate it? Would anyone care if it was 5,826? No. Am I the only one who cares about accuracy? Maybe.

So yes, I take offense when I am accused of masquerading the truth while Intrepid pushes “questionable creative applications of alternate realities” on their player base. Trash my content if you want. Call me crass, vulgar, toxic, spewing vitriol. I will thank you and move on. Question my integrity, now you have my attention. Now, I have to start next week’s Ashes of Creation video. It involves C-level leadership, investigations, and Hieroglyphic economics.
